Australian Cricket Team is in India to play the ODI series against India. On the 1st game, Australia defeated India by 10 wickets held in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Australia won the toss and chose to field first. Batting first, India were all out in 49.1 overs making just 255 runs.
Summary:
Shikhar Dhawan made total of 74 runs in 91 balls hitting nine fours and one sixes.Lokesh Rahul made 47 runs in 61 balls hitting 4 fours. Similarly, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav made 10/16/25/4/28/13/10/17 runs respectively. Last batsman Jasprit Bumrah wasn’t able to make a single run. Star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma’s bad performance made India face defeat against visitors in their home ground.
On the bowling spell, from the Aussie’s side Mitchel Starc took 3 wickets giving just 56 runs in 10 overs. Mitchel Starc is a world class bowler. Indian side seemed weak against Australian bowlers. Pat Cummins and Kane Richardson took 2/2 wickets each giving 44 and 43 runs in 10 and 9.1 overs respectively. In addition, Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar took 1/1 wickets giving 53 and 56 runs. Ashton Agar kept one over maiden.
On the bowling side Mohhamed Shami gave maximum 58 runs bowling 7.4 overs. Kuldeep Yadav completed his 10 overs giving just 55 runs. Jasprit Bumrah bowling 7 overs gave away 50 runs. In addition, Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja gave away 43 and 41 runs bowling 5 and 8 overs.
In conclusion:
Bad performance of Indian bowlers and low score were the hindrance of India’ s defeat. Today India and Australia are playing the 2nd series in Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. If India loses today, then Australia will win the series. If India manages victory today, then there will still be hope for India. The 3rd ODI will be played in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 19th January.
