Laxmi Sunrise internet banking now means iBankXP and Compass. See the login links, Mobile Money registration, password help, NPR limits, fees and contacts.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank's online banking has changed shape, and the names can be confusing. The old iBank internet banking platform is being discontinued. In its place the bank now points customers to two web services: iBankXP, the web version of the Laxmi Sunrise Mobile Money app, which carries the full set of transactions, and Laxmi Sunrise Compass, a view-only portal for balances and statements. If you are searching for "Laxmi Sunrise internet banking", "Laxmi Sunrise login" or "Laxmi Sunrise ebanking", one of these two is the page you want.
This guide explains what each product does, how to register and log in, what to do if you forget your password, the transaction limits and charges the bank publishes, and how to reach its customer care centre. All facts come from laxmisunrise.com, the bank's iBankXP and Compass sites, the two Mobile Money FAQs the bank hosts, and the app's official store listings.
iBank, iBankXP, Compass and Mobile Money: What Each One Is
Laxmi Sunrise says on its internet banking page that it has offered internet banking since 2003; the service has been called iBank. The bank's current iBank page now lists three entries and explains the shift:
- iBankXP is what the bank calls "the smarter, omnichannel way of Internet Banking". Its What's New with iBank page says you get the same services on the web as in the Mobile Money app, through one interface and with the same username and password.
- Laxmi Sunrise Compass is a platform the bank built in-house, introduced "with the discontinuation of the existing iBank platform". It lets retail and corporate customers view balances and account statements and download or email statements, with OTP verification. It has no transaction features.
- iBank is the older internet banking service. The iBank page still carries a "Log in iBank" button, but the bank states the platform is being discontinued.
The mobile side is the Laxmi Sunrise Mobile Money app, published on Google Play by Laxmi Sunrise Bank Ltd. and on the App Store under the bank's pre-merger developer name, Laxmi Bank Ltd. Its store listing calls it the bank's official mobile banking app, and it is a member of the Fonepay network.
Mobile Money App vs iBankXP Web vs Compass
| Point | Mobile Money app | iBankXP (web) | Compass (web) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where | Android and iOS | mobilemoney.laxmisunrise.com | compass.laxmisunrise.com |
| Login | Mobile Money username and password | Same as the app | Separate Compass login: email address and password |
| Balance and statements | Yes | Yes | Yes, with download and email |
| Transfers and payments | Yes | Yes | No |
| Who it suits | Daily payments, QR, top-ups | Same services on a larger screen | Customers who only need statements |
For most retail customers, the simplest setup is the Mobile Money app on the phone and iBankXP on a computer, using one set of credentials for both.
How to Register
Mobile Money (and through it, iBankXP)
The bank's Mobile Money page lists three ways to sign up:
- At a branch: visit your nearest Laxmi Sunrise branch and sign up there. The combined "iBank/ Mobile Money/ SMS / Debit Card Alert/ Email Solution Application Form" is also on the bank's Downloads page.
- Online: apply online through the bank's website.
- In the app: download Laxmi Sunrise Mobile Money from the Google Play Store or the App Store and apply through the app itself.
Once the bank verifies your application, it sends a confirmation with your passwords by SMS to your registered mobile number. Then:
- Open the app. Your username is your registered mobile number.
- Log in with the login password you received.
- On first login, the app asks you to change both your login password and your transaction password (PIN). Set new ones.
The bank's FAQ adds that you can only access the accounts you specified when registering. Adding or removing an account later requires a branch visit.
If you have not subscribed to Mobile Money at all, the bank says you can activate your iBankXP account online using the mobile number associated with your bank account. Once active, the same credentials work in the app. The iBankXP site has a Register/Activate your Account button beside the login box and says its services are open whether or not you hold an account with the bank. The FAQ inside the app adds that a new account holder can self-register from the login tab's Unable to login? section using the account number and mobile details, with 30 days of non-financial use free before subscribing.
Laxmi Sunrise Compass
Compass has its own sign-up. On compass.laxmisunrise.com/register you verify your email address with a code, choose Retail or Corporate, enter your name, mobile number and address, and list up to ten accounts (the first becomes your default). After you submit, the bank asks you to visit a branch with your identification documents to complete the registration and activate the service. A paper "Laxmi Sunrise Compass Application Form" is also on the bank's Downloads page. Compass logins use your email address and a password, not your Mobile Money credentials, and the login page has a "Forgot your password?" link.
Do not have an account yet?
The bank runs a digital account opening platform on its website. After applying online, you must visit your selected branch within seven days or complete Video KYC to finalise the account. Mobile Money requires a valid Laxmi Sunrise account.
How to Log In to Laxmi Sunrise Internet Banking
The bank's iBank page carries the official login buttons. They lead to these addresses:
- iBankXP (full internet banking): https://mobilemoney.laxmisunrise.com/
- Laxmi Sunrise Compass (view only): https://compass.laxmisunrise.com/login
To log in to iBankXP:
- Type the address into your browser, or open it from the iBank page on laxmisunrise.com. Do not use links from emails or text messages.
- In the "Login to your account" box, enter your registered mobile number and tap Proceed, then enter the password you use in the Mobile Money app.
- Transactions on the bank's internet banking are confirmed with an OTP sent by SMS to your registered mobile number, according to the bank's internet banking page.
The bank's security page says the address bar should show "https" and the padlock icon, and you can click the padlock to check that the certificate was issued to the bank. Do this every time you sign in on a new computer.
Forgot Your Password or PIN?
The FAQ inside the Mobile Money and iBankXP app is the only official page that describes a reset, and it is a two-part process:
- Ask your account-holding branch or the bank's card department to reset your user. The FAQ says you can change a password you still know from inside the app, but a forgotten one needs this reset first.
- After the bank confirms, open the app, go to the login tab and tap Unable to login?. Enter your account and mobile details and follow the steps.
Related points the bank publishes:
- A blocked user is unblocked the same way: inform your nearest branch or the card department.
- If you change or format your phone, use the same Unable to login? section to reset your device, because the app stores your device ID after the first login. Logging in on a new device with your usual credentials also de-registers the old one.
- The Schedule of Service Charges lists Mobile Money PIN resend (login and/or transaction password) at Nil charge, so a re-issued password is free.
- The Mobile Money FAQ says personal details, including your mobile number, can only be changed at a branch.
- When the bank moved its core system to Infosys Finacle, its iBank notice told iBank users to collect two new passwords (PINs) from their account-holding branch.
If you would rather speak to someone first, call the Customer Care Center on 01-5970684 or the toll-free line 16600122444, or email cx@laxmisunrise.com, and say whether you have forgotten the login password, the transaction password, or both.
Fund Transfers, Bill Payments and Other Features
The bank's Mobile Money FAQ and Mobile Money page list these services. Because iBankXP mirrors the app, they are available on the web as well.
- Fund transfers: between your own Laxmi Sunrise accounts, and to accounts at other banks on the Fonepay network.
- QR payments: scan and share your QR to pay, through Fonepay.
- Bill payments and top-ups: NTC prepaid, postpaid and landline, Ncell prepaid and postpaid, ADSL, Dish Home and SimTV.
- Merchant payments: pay registered merchants directly from the app.
- Wallet loads: load your eSewa wallet.
- Cards: pay your credit card bill, stop a debit or credit card, and make credit card enquiries.
- Cardless ATM withdrawal.
- Account services: balances, statements (up to the past 90 days in the app), cheque book requests and stop-cheque instructions.
- Other: ATM and branch locator, the bank's forex rates and share price, and fingerprint login, which you can switch on or off in settings.
- SMS mode: tap the SMS icon at the top right of the app to bank without an internet connection. Each request needs your transaction PIN, and standard SMS charges apply.
The FAQ says you receive an alert message once a payment is processed, and that cancelling or correcting a transaction requires a branch visit.
The bank also keeps SMS banking: without a smartphone, you can send formatted requests to 32002.
Laxmi Sunrise Transaction Limits and Charges
Transaction limits
The Laxmi Sunrise homepage publishes this limit table. All amounts are in NPR.
| Channel | Per transaction | Daily | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile Money fund transfer | 300,000 | 300,000 | 2,000,000 |
| Laxmi Sunrise iBank fund transfer | 2,000,000 | 2,000,000 | 5,000,000 |
| Transfer to and from wallets | 25,000 | 100,000 | 500,000 |
| ATM cash withdrawal | 20,000 | 50,000 | 300,000 |
| Credit card cash withdrawal | 10% of total credit limit | ||
The bank's table still uses the iBank name for the web transfer row. It does not say separately whether iBankXP uses the iBank or the Mobile Money limit, so check the limit shown inside iBankXP before a large transfer. An older FAQ page on the Mobile Money site shows much lower mobile payment figures; the homepage table above is the more recent one.
Charges
From the bank's Schedule of Service Charges:
| Item | Charge |
|---|---|
| Mobile Money annual fee | NPR 250 (individual), NPR 600 (corporate) |
| iBank subscription | NPR 250 a year (individual), NPR 600 a year (corporate) |
| Green Package (includes Mobile Money and iBankXP) | NPR 400 a year |
| Mobile Money PIN resend (login and/or transaction password) | Nil |
| Transfer within Laxmi Sunrise accounts | Nil |
| Transfer to other banks via Mobile Money | NPR 10 (Fonepay network) or NPR 8 (NPS network) |
| Bill payments via Mobile Money | Nil |
| Linking a new account to Mobile Money | NPR 200 a year (individual), NPR 600 a year (corporate) |
| connectIPS transfer | NPR 2 up to NPR 500; NPR 4 above NPR 500 to NPR 5,000; NPR 8 above NPR 5,000 |
Your mobile operator's data and SMS charges are separate. The schedule also says that where an NRB directive sets a different fee, the NRB figure applies.
Security Practices to Follow
The bank's own internet banking and security pages give this advice, which is worth repeating:
- Type the bank's address yourself instead of clicking links in emails. Fraudsters send emails with links to pages built to look exactly like the bank's.
- Check for https and the padlock, and open the certificate details if anything looks wrong.
- Never give account details to anyone who contacts you by email or online claiming to be from the bank. Report it to the bank instead.
- Choose a hard password. The bank's internet banking page says to avoid easily available information such as your birthday, phone number, the last digits of your passport number or your mother's maiden name, to avoid dictionary words, and to change the password often.
- Watch for shoulder-surfing when you log in or enter your transaction password in public.
- Keep your registered mobile number current. The bank's Mobile Money page describes two-factor authentication as your password plus your registered phone, and the FAQ says only a branch can change that number.
